Exceptional

Loved the hotel, it's labyrinthine paths in the garden were delightful to walk thru. Pool was refreshing, mostly dominated by kids. The service was good, very clean, as others have said. Free breakfast was good & we would stay here again, loved feeling like we were in a palace of days past with ahidden garden.

the only thing we didn't like: the beds aren't very comfortable.

We loved Danza del Sol for its location, lovely grounds & pool, amazing breakfasts, large rooms!

Danza del Sol is such a delightful place - the apartments are large and nicely furnished, the grounds are lovely, the breakfasts are delicious , the staff very helpful and the pool is fun! It’s also a short walk from anything you’d want to visit in Ajijic. Totally recommend!

It wasn’t a big deal because the staff helped us with it and it was very affordable, but we had to buy a water container from the front desk - they made it easy, though .

Everything was great! Very functional villas, all facilities working as expected having big spaces in all rooms and kitchen. Nice breakfast, with outstanding staff service. Very pleasant stay!!!

The appartement was huge with a big kitchen. Ideal for families and long stays. Feels like living in an hacienda. Breakfast was excellent!

A nice little place to stop over.

It was very spacious and we loved the high ceilings. Great location and the buffet breakfast was good- even had fresh juice!

The kitchen items were very lacking. Very basic if you were to cook. No wine glasses or any basics like coffee machine, salt pepper, ice trays. We called reception for ice and we were told we had to buy it for 50 pesos! Then we asked for a bottle opener and we went to pick it up at reception and were told to bring it back! These items should be in the room. We also were wanting to enjoy a fire as on the website there’s images of the fireplace with a fire burning. We were told that they aren’t in use- so maybe it would be a good idea to remove image and make mention on the website that they aren’t available to use. We thought a heater and more blankets would be good too- we felt cold during the night- but it is winter. On arrival we weren’t warmly greeted by the girl on front desk- this tarnished our stay a little as she was also the one who told us to return the bottle opener and pay for ice.

Very Good

It's a real gem this place. Staff super friendly and helpful. We loved our stay throughout and our children loved the bananas and oranges that were growing on the trees in the garden.

Kitchen could have been better equipped. Not equipped for cooking or cleaning the dishes even though it has a full kitchen.

Drain in 1 of our bathroom showers had a draining problem, very very slow. Tried to tell someone when we left but no one was at the desk.

I would stay there again and I would recommend it to a friend. The only downside was the hot water.

The grounds were beautifully maintained. The room was an apartment and we had a private sitting area with a view of the garden. The restaurant and service was excellent. Overall it was lovely.

The only down side is that after the first day, we did not have hot water in our shower. I asked the front desk to check on it, but we still did not have hot water. I should have pursued it, but since I have friends nearby, I showered at their house. Also it was cool at night and some extra blankets would have been nice. Again, I borrowed blankets from my friend, so didn't pursue it after asking one time.

Room is condo designed and spacious. Very quiet and a short walk to town center

There was no info that the gas stove needed to be lit, how to get a pool towel or that a 20 liter jug of water was available for 70 . pesos

The accommodations were fine tho expensive considering, the bureaucratic decisions untenable.

Bed was extremely comfortable, king size, lovely sheets and pillows. Nice new firm mattress which I like. Breakfast good, lots of options.

Apt. was overall dark. No dishes or equipment in the kitchen and it wasn’t explained to me how I was as supposed to get those things. Learned from a fellow traveller I needed to ask to have the gas turned on, a big water bottle supplied. And Eventhough there was hardly anyone staying at the hotel, neither the hotel nor Booking.com would make accommodations and downsize my 2-bedroom apt to a single room, and reduce my cost, when my Girlfriend had to suddenly return home because of an emergency. Coffee not good, but a great French bakery with espresso just a few blocks away.

Booking.com messed up the reservation.

The villa was large, well furnished, albeit rustic. The reception staff tried to be helpful to our situation (see below), but could not bend the rules.

Major reservation issues by Booking.com. I requested 2 units for 3 people, and was asked for the name of the person in 2nd room, so I entered the name Greg. However Booking.com split the reservation into 2 reservations, so when we arrived was only one room reserved in my name. We were kindly offered a 2 bedroom unit, for a good price, and we accepted. Then we discovered that the 2nd bedroom was locked, and maintenance had to drill out the lock to get in. No-one had benn in the room for some time, and it was very musty, but Greg used it anyway and did not want to complain. Then we get a call at 10:30pm that Greg's room was in a separate reservation and we have to pay for it as well and do we want to use it. It was late, we were tired, we had already gone to our rooms so I said no. We still had to pay for an unused room!!!!

Beautiful grounds, 15 minute walk from Ajijic centre,

Lovely grounds. The rooms were huge. The kids loved the buffet breakfast, especially the pancakes and chocolate milk.

The rooms were quite cold. We stayed in January so temperatures at night were still low.
